Adopt

Some of our horses can be nursed back to health physically, emotionally, and psychologically and adopted to wonderful, loving, approved, forever homes. At Nalani, we take the time to get to know each horse individually. We want our horses to thrive in their forever homes and we take the time to evaluate whether an adopter is a good fit. Once a horse is adopted, we stay in touch and consider the adopter part of the Nalani family. We would love to have a conversation with you to see if one of our horses is a good match!

Sponsor a Horse

Nalani Horse Rescue is funded solely on donations from our generous supporters. Joining our sponsorship program helps us provide the essential care each horse requires. You can sponsor a horse for a month, 6 months or a year. You will get regular updates on "your" horse and with a yearly commitment, you will get to meet your horse in person (by appointment only). Reach out, and we'll help you find your perfect match!

Nalani Paddock Pals

This initiative was designed to share our love for horses, boost understanding of proper equine care, and help us continue to grow and save horses. We meet once a month with a casual agenda that includes spending time with the horses, hearing their stories and learning all about their needs and care.

This program is open to both kids and adults. Children must be over six and be accompanied by an adult. No experience is required, just a desire to spend time with horses. Cost is $100 per monthly session.

Events

Nalani Horse Rescue hosts occasional events throughout the year to support its mission of rescuing and rehabilitating horses. One of the annual highlights is the Hike for Horses event, which takes place in the fall. at our home, Alanwood Farm. Participants can meet the rescued horses, enjoy a scenic hike, and gather for good food. All of our events are aimed at bringing the community together and raising awareness for the cause.

Volunteer

Nalani Horse Rescue’s volunteers spend one-on-one time with all of the horses. They participate in feeding, bathing, and farrier and vet visits. We educate our volunteers on why we do things and the thought process behind any diet or care changes. We believe it’s important for our volunteers to be a well-informed, integrated part of our team. Our deeply appreciated volunteers bond with our horses and play a truly important role in their recovery.

Care Team

We have two feeding shifts a day. The horses are fed, checked over, groomed, hayed, blanketed, etc. There are also many opportunities outside of feeding shifts (vet visits, helping with farrier visits, grooming, etc.) We require that all volunteers are over 16 and have experience with horses.

Fundraising/Administration

There is much to be done behind the scenes to keep Nalani running. Nalani runs solely on donations and fundraising is a big task! If you have a heart for helping in this capacity, we would love to chat!

Please complete this waiver and contact us to get started.
